Please act immediately to permanently protect Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. These public lands should not be opened to new mining, drilling, or coal development, and their protections should not change every time a new president takes office. Congress should pass permanent protections for the full monument boundaries, preserve public access, respect Tribal interests, and prevent future administrations from weakening these safeguards. Once these lands are damaged, we cannot simply restore what was lost. Please oppose new extractive development and support permanent congressional protection.
