Support MI Future Educator Student Teacher Stipend program

To: Rep. Posthumus, Sen. Outman, Gov. Whitmer

From: A constituent in Rockford, MI

February 20

The proposed legislation, Senate Bill 83, allocates $50 million to establish the MI Future Educator Student Teacher Stipend program. This program would provide stipends of up to $9,600 per semester to eligible student teachers working in Michigan school districts or qualifying publicly funded preschool programs. By financially supporting aspiring educators during their required student teaching placement, this initiative aims to attract and retain talented individuals to the teaching profession in our state. Given the critical need to address teacher shortages and ensure a high-quality education for all students, I urge your support for Senate Bill 83 to invest in our future educational workforce.
