Rein in Musk’s Control Over Public Data and Infrastructure

To: Sen. Sullivan, Sen. Murkowski, Rep. Begich

From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK

May 8

The Washington Post reported today that the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), under Elon Musk’s influence, is building a massive centralized database of Americans’ personal information—bypassing normal safeguards and legal protections. Cybersecurity experts warn this puts us at risk of fraud, manipulation, and abuse. At the same time, Musk’s grip on agencies like the FAA and NASA is redirecting public resources toward his private ventures—cutting safety measures, environmental oversight, and even biomedical research to fuel personal goals like Mars colonization. Please act now: • Investigate DOGE’s data consolidation efforts and restrict unauthorized access. • Reinstate independent oversight of our transportation and aerospace agencies. • Block further privatization of core government functions. One billionaire should not be allowed to hijack public systems. Our privacy, safety, and democracy are at stake.
