People need to be educated about “AI”, but not in the sense of the LIFT Act. This bill would legitimize Crypto 2.0, treating a glorified autocomplete like it’s the next Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was also terrible for the planet and, on balance, the average person, but at least my car works more than 60% of the time… The fact that Google and Microsoft are applauding this bill is a major red flag. The “AI” bubble is beginning to deflate - Microsoft is starting to nickel and dime token use for GitHub Co-Pilot - do not play into the hype now and waste enormous time and other resources on this apocalyptic scam.
