The reported plans for a large military parade on June 14th to coincide with President Trump's birthday raise significant concerns of wasteful spending at a time when his policies have caused an economic recession. According to detailed Army documents, the parade would involve over 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters, and immense logistical coordination at enormous cost to taxpayers. While commemorating the Army's 250th anniversary is laudable, diverting such extensive resources towards an apparent vanity parade seems wasteful and inappropriate, especially during a recession. I urge you to put an end to this and instead direct funds towards more prudent purposes that truly support our troops, aid economic recovery, and serve national security interests. A parade glorifying military might does little to honor the sacrifices of service members or address the pressing needs of the nation during difficult economic times.
