Speak up for the people of Wisconsin

To: Sen. Bradley, Gov. Evers, Rep. Allen

From: A constituent in Waukesha, WI

March 4

I am a mother of two school-age children, a teacher, and a proud member of my community in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I am angered and appalled by the attitudes and decisions coming out of our federal government in Washington. I believe that immigrants are the backbone of our nation, and that instead of treating them as criminals or "the problem", they need to be given clear paths to citizenship so that they can truly be part of our community and nation, where they have already built homes and relationships for years. I believe that Ukraine was invaded by Russia, and that a path to peace comes by standing firm in that truth. It comes from standing with Ukraine and treating them with respect as we all work towards a peaceful resolution to this conflict that Russia began. I believe that diversity and equity strengthen us and create a future that my daughter and my son can participate in, with more opportunities for all people. I believe that treating our allies as enemies and cancelled global aid programs will only lead to an America that is isolated, targeted, and seen as a heartless bully. That is not my America. My America is part of a cooperative global community, promoting democratic principles and helping the most vulnerable among us in the world. Please stand up for what America is supposed to be. Please speak out to show that Wisconsin is better than this. Please make decisions that show intelligent, long-term thought and compassion. Thank you for all that you do each day as a servant of the people, for those of us to elected you to be our voice.
