You will be voting on the confirmation of Mr Mullins as the Secretary of Homeland Security.  The ONLY candidate that could be LESS qualified is the recently deposed Secretary, Ms Noem. Mr Mullins has demonstrated a severe lack of discipline in his extremely limited experience in government service.  He is currently serving his first term as a US Senator which he obtained in a special election to replace his predecessor with only 10 years unremarkable experience as a Representative for Oklahoma’s 2nd District but without any previous elected office.  Ironically, the seated Senator he was appointed to replace was Ms Noem. When Mr Mullin was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2012 he reported income roughly between $200k and $2M from his family businesses for which he assumed management due to his Father’s illness.  However, in 2021 he reported his assets were somewhere between $31.6M and $75.6M, primarily due to the sale of his family plumbing business.  While that sort of asset growth might be indicative of Mr Mullins sterling stewardship of the company over a single decade, the ambiguity of resulting profit ($44M) is concerning. Mr Mullin was initially elected promising to serve for only three terms.  However, following his service for those three terms, he reneged on his promise and successfully ran for a fourth AND fifth term.  His service in the House was unremarkable other than an incident in 2017 where he claimed to not be drawing his Congressional salary when he actually enjoyed the full renumeration for the Oklahoma’s Representative from the US Treasury.  Similarly, Mr Mullin publicly derided President Biden’s Student loan forgiveness program when it was reported he received $1.4M from the PPP Loan Forgiveness Program.  During his limited term in the Senate, Mr Mullins has had numerous episodes where his violent tendencies have become apparent.  For instance, he decided to inject himself into a dispute between Rand Paul and his neighbor.  He also challenged the Teamsters President to a physical fight on the floor of the Senate until the Committee Chairman had to intervene to calm down the discussion. In 2025, Mr Mullin provided full-throated support for the President’s Big Beautiful Bill that has proven to be the antithesis of sound government regulation.  That bill alone added $4.5T in tax cuts and $3.3T to the national debt.  In his 2022 election to the Senate Mr Mullins also publicly supported the President’s claim that the 2020 election was stolen from Mr Trump.  In this election, he has stated that he is vehemently against abortion INCLUDING in cases of rape, incest and when the Mother’s life is at risk. Mr Mullin is woefully unqualified to serve as the Secretary of Homeland Security.  His legislative experience has exclusively consisted of blind adherence to President Trump’s vision in all respects.  He has shown violent tendencies throughout his government service and his rushed to judgement on DHS issues such as the deaths of Ms Good and Mr Pretti during questionable DHS enforcement activities in Minneapolis.  As such, I strongly urge you to vote AGAINST Mr Mullins appointment as the Secretary of Homeland Security. I strongly urge you to deny Mr Mullin’s appointment.
