Yesterday I joined dozens of others at my nearest National Park, standing in solidarity with federal workers and public lands. Thousands more around the country joined us. Our message is clear: public lands, federal workers, and the benefits they provide are essential to our country. Americans deserve the services that these dedicated civil servants provide: from research on disease at the NIH, to tests ensuring clean water at the EPA, protections from scams by the CFPB, firefighters with USFS saving our homes, accurate weather and marine forecasts from NOAA, and so much more. The reckless and illegal actions of DOGE will have only one effect: enriching the billionaire class by exploiting and endangering the health and security of Americans. Senator Sullivan and Representative Begich, I encourage you to look to Senator Murkowski as an example of the courage it takes to stand up to your own increasingly repressive party. Senator Murkowski, thank you so much for being one of the few GOP voices willing to publicly oppose Trump. Keep it up!! The open embrace of oligarchy and foreign dictators by the Trump administration is sickening. We need everyone to oppose Trump (and Musk) with everything you've got. Do not confirm appointees, do not support his legislation or budget, do not legitimize DOGE, do not affirm his lies, and do not pretend that what he's doing is beneficial for the American people. Defend democracy and the rule of law! Stand up for Americans!
