Is Trump Mentally Stable? DOJ Speech and Dangerous Misinformation
To: Sen. Cruz, Rep. Moran, Sen. Cornyn
From: A constituent in Kilgore, TX
March 14
I am writing to you with deep alarm after watching President Donald Trump’s recent speech at the Department of Justice (DOJ) headquarters—a speech that should terrify anyone who believes in the rule of law and the independence of our justice system. Instead of delivering a policy-focused address, Trump used the event as a stage to settle personal grievances, attack prosecutors, and demand absolute loyalty from DOJ officials. What kind of president refers to those who have upheld the law as “scum” in the very halls of the Justice Department? What kind of leader openly praises a judge who dismissed his case while publicly threatening others who ruled against him? How is this acceptable behavior for the head of state? More importantly—is Trump mentally fit to be wielding this kind of power? His speech was not just concerning—it was unhinged. He made vague, ominous threats about using executive actions to target lawyers who prosecuted him, essentially signaling his intent to use the DOJ as a weapon of political revenge. He encouraged his appointees not to be “deflected” by critics, which is nothing short of a demand for blind allegiance rather than impartial justice. And then, there was his bizarre and completely unsubstantiated claim that firefighters are being shot off their ladders. Where did this come from? Is there any evidence to support such an outrageous statement? Or is this just another fabricated scare tactic meant to stoke fear and chaos? If the President of the United States is making up deranged scenarios out of thin air, should we not be questioning his grip on reality? How far will this go before Congress intervenes? How long will our leaders sit by as Trump consolidates power, dismantles the safeguards of democracy, and pushes increasingly erratic and authoritarian rhetoric? At what point do his actions and statements warrant a serious discussion about his mental fitness to lead? I urge you—demand answers, conduct investigations, and do not remain silent. The Justice Department should not be a personal attack dog for the president, nor should the highest office in the land be occupied by someone who spews blatant falsehoods without consequence. This is no longer just about politics—it’s about the survival of our democracy.
