Oppose SAVE Act — the data is faulty

To: Rep. Mann, Sen. Marshall, Sen. Moran

From: A verified voter in Lyons, KS

April 12

I am once again writing to oppose the SAVE Act after learning of yet another outrageous element of it. I am deeply alarmed at the provision that requires states to hand over their voter registration data to the federal government — without restrictions — with one intended purpose being “cleaning” the voter rolls without notice to voters. Reviews have shown that the sweep flags U.S. citizens as noncitizens for removal 94-98% of the time. In Alabama, nearly every person purged in a recent sweep was a citizen. Noncitizen votes account for 77 incidents over the last 24 years. That’s only 3 votes per year. The data does not match the reported purpose. This is an attempt to strip lawful voters of their rights. Oppose the SAVE Act. No negotiations. It must be rejected.
