SAVE Act - prove its needed

To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley, Rep. Graves

From: A constituent in Plattsburg, MO

March 31

The House will vote on the SAVE Act this week and presumably the Senate will soon. If this bill passes, more than 21 million Americans could be blocked from voting. This bill requires Americans to show documents like a passport or a birth certificate to register or re-register to vote. More than 21 million Americans don’t have these documents readily available. Voter fraud is less than 1% and Congress has shown no facts to support the need for such huge changes. This is pretending a problem exists where there is none. The bill’s requirement that voters produce documents “in person” would also upend most voter registration methods — including registering online and by mail. The SAVE Act would be the first voter suppression bill ever passed by Congress. Lawmakers should be protecting the freedom to vote — not restricting it. I highly recommend you do NOT SUPPORT THIS BILL. I'd like a response with your position and if you support, I want to know facts about voter fraud that you have for MO in the last few elections. I would expect you to have this information if you support the Bill. Please respond in a timely manner
