Wheelchair accessibility at post offices
To: Rep. Pfluger
From: A constituent in Coleman, TX
December 19
This is something that should have been addressed a long time ago. I live in Coleman, Texas. Our local post office does not have a ramp for those in wheelchairs and with disabilities. This is against the law according to the Americans With Disabilities Act. This could become a lawsuit. When my friend's mother was alive, she would have to go to the back and even then the workers complained. They suggested that she send somebody else to collect her mail. I imagine that many towns in this area probably have the same issue. I recommend sending a representative to each of the small post offices in this area and similar areas with small towns to make sure that there are wheelchair accessible areas for each post office. It's sad that someone such as myself needs to contact my representative to get something done. I reach out to you first because I feel that perhaps you can get something done as our local town has not done anything regarding this. Thank you.
