Issues of Navy corruption and how it affects national security: The Navy's ship procurement disasters are far more concerning than the occasional inexcusable loss of aircraft, a $60 million aircraft rolling into sea. Basically the past 3-4 ships Navy ordered have been complete disasters. 1) Zumwalt Class (Stealth) Destroyer- (I'm pretty sure stealth destroyers were invented long ago, it's called a submarine 😉). They wanted to make 30-something, ended up making 3. $8 billion each- 2-3x more than a sub and almost as much as an aircraft carrier. 4x more expensive than the existing Arliegh Burke Destroyers still in production. Lots of practical issues. Zumwalt has really had no purpose until recently when they decided to put the hypersonic missiles on it. 2) Littoral Combat Ship (LCS)- which actually ended up being 2 completely different ship models, the Independence Class and Freedom Class. Such failures and disasters that they've retired boats after only a handful years in service, then decided to retire both classes fleets entirely, but are apparently contractually required to keep building them. 3) Constellation Class Frigate- supposed to be a licensed design of an Italian designed frigate to put it into action quickly that they know works. It was supposed to be like 87% similar to keep things cheap. Then it was decided to change 87% instead so it's years behind, over budget, makes no sense. Guy running the program is the moron who ran the LCS program. If we ever have a naval war with China we are screwed. Even if our boats and planes and weapons are far superior, China can build boats in half the time, have 200x+ more shipbuilding capacity, and can do for a fraction of the cost. That's basically how WWII was won. If Korea can build a ship for 25 cents on the $1 vs the U.S., imagine China is even less. (Granted both countries heavily subsidize their mfg industries, aka slave labor.) Compared to the horrible mess DOGE and Elon Musk have made of the government, this Naval military corruption, inefficiency and fraud which has been hidden from US citizens is an additional abomination. Shameful.
