Please vote no to squash Kash Patel's appointment to head the FBI. This is a grave matter of national security and citizen safety. We've already seen multiple purges of entire departments in President Trump's three weeks in office. He seems especially focused on firing anyone who has tried or could try to hold him accountable for his illegal actions. Kash Patel seems highly likely to be the next tool Trump will use to continue his personal vendetta against enforcement of the nation's laws. We all remember how livid Trump was when the FBI entered his Florida resort home to find the classified documents Trump denied he had. We cannot afford another spiteful purge of federal workers. Believe me, I'm no huge fan of the FBI, but, at their best, they keep Americans safe from predatory major criminals and investigate crimes too large for a single local police department to handle. There's no reasonable case for yet another purge, just because the president's fragile ego was bruised. There's too much we don't know about Patel. He has no FBI experience, and he has, unprecedentedly, invoked the Fifth Amendment to avoid self-recrimination during his confirmation hearings. That alone is a red flag. PLEASE vote NO on Patel to head the FBI.
