Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. Why is the U.S. again hampering Ukraine’s efforts to push back on Russian aggression? We’re reading that we are pushing back on the concept of Ukraine striking targets inside Russia, with weapons we are sending them. Even though Ukraine is steadily being pulverized by a Russian invasion of their sovereign country. We are already fighting a proxy war against Russia by sending Ukraine weapons to use against Russians. I get that perhaps a full-fledged incursion into Russia by an American-backed Ukraine would give Russia a perfect justification to start WWIII. This is a finesse of war that may be civilized, but also disingenuous on its face. If Ukraine is unable to address attacks on its citizens from across Russian borders, it is an unequal battlefield with rules only being abided by on one side. Surely our focus is more on achieving success for one of our democratic allies and not just supporting the military-industrial complex? We have done our unfair share of hampering Ukraine’s efforts to save itself. If we and the rest of our allies stand firm in support of Ukraine, this is a game of chicken that might be needed. Backing a bully down isn’t always that hard. If our resolve falters, Mr. Putin is always paying attention. Ne has shown he has no fear of overstepping. And that might prove to be his ultimate downfall.
