Only a few hours left to stop this madness

To: Rep. Moore, Sen. Justice, Sen. Capito

I write to urge you to act immediately to check the President’s dangerous and destabilizing threats toward Iran. Recent statements suggesting the destruction of civilian infrastructure—and even an entire “civilization”—have alarmed allies, military experts, and members of both parties. This rhetoric is not only reckless—it risks dragging the United States into a wider war, undermining our credibility, and potentially violating both U.S. law and international humanitarian standards. Experts warn that deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure could constitute a war crime and place American service members in an untenable legal and moral position. Congress has both the authority and the responsibility to serve as a check on executive overreach in matters of war. I urge you to publicly condemn these threats, demand clear legal justification for any military action, and support measures to reassert congressional war powers before irreversible escalation occurs. The stakes are too high for silence. The American people—and the world—need steady leadership grounded in law, restraint, and respect for human life.
