It's clear that our democracy and the international order are in gravest danger from Trump and Musk's reckless and unconstitutional actions. I'm asking the senate to use every tool possible to halt this threat. Senate Dems have complied with unanimous consent requests over 400 times since inauguration. Why offer this unnecessary compliance while the Trump administration is rolling out blatantly unconstitutional executive orders?  It's time to stop. I want to see you put up stronger opposition to the real time dismantling of our nation, rights, and rule of law. Messaging -- and votes-- on the president's clown car of damaging nominees has been ineffective. It is time to begin objecting to unanimous consent. Objecting to unanimous consent is a tool for the minority to curb the excesses of the majority. Sen. Tuberville demonstrated the power of objecting to unanimous consent in blocking competent, uncontroversial military nominations from going forward for nearly 10 months during the Biden administration. Use the same tool: it is simple, effective, and may be the only way  to slow this administration's catastrophically destructive program. Trump has been shredding the constitution and failing to see that the laws are faithfully executed daily: after his shameful behavior towards Zelenskyy and our vote with Russia at the UN, it is clear Trump also gives aid and succour to our foes. I have no doubt that the time will come when senators will sit for a third time as impeachment jurors for Donald Trump. It’s not too early to start preparing the ground with your Republican colleagues. Putting the brakes on by refusing unanimous consent might help your GOP colleagues to find their courage and loyalty to the constitution.  (They know that Trump obliterating the constitutional order but are scared to object.) I am counting on you to use every tool at your disposal to message more effectively and to put the brakes on ongoing destruction being carried out by Trump and Musk. Please reply to me.
