Reject Kennedy's anti-vaccine nomination for HHS Secretary
To: Sen. Thune, Sen. Rounds
From: A constituent in Rapid City, SD
February 5
I urge you to reject the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Mr. Kennedy has a well-documented history of spreading dangerous misinformation about vaccines, falsely claiming they cause autism, are more deadly than the diseases they prevent, and have "poisoned an entire generation of American children." These claims are categorically false and contradict the overwhelming scientific consensus that vaccines are safe and effective, having saved millions of lives worldwide. Nearly 20,000 doctors have warned that Kennedy's anti-vaccine views put vulnerable communities at risk. Over 900 public health officials in 41 states and 77 Nobel Laureates have expressed serious concerns, stating his appointment would "undermine America's global leadership in health sciences" and "put the public's health in jeopardy." We must have leadership at HHS that values science, promotes public trust in vaccines and other proven health interventions, and protects access to quality healthcare for all Americans, including low-income families, seniors, and the disabled. Kennedy's radical views make him unfit for this critical role overseeing public health and safety. I urge you to vote no on his nomination in order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the nation.
