Your Weekly Reminder: Constituents Are Watching, and We Will Vote Accordingly
To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley
From: A verified voter in Kansas City, MO
July 20
Consider this your weekly reminder that your constituents are watching every vote, every excuse, and every time you choose loyalty to Donald Trump and this administration over the people you were elected to represent.
If you continue supporting a man I view as a wannabe fascist dictator while turning a blind eye to allegations and concerns surrounding criminal conduct, corruption, market manipulation, cryptocurrency conflicts and scams, wasteful vanity projects, reckless spending, and continued U.S. involvement in wars without proper accountability, you should not expect your constituents to forget when Election Day arrives.
You were elected to represent us, not to serve Donald Trump, his administration, wealthy donors, or any political party. Your responsibility is to your constituents and to the Constitution.
Americans are tired of watching politicians excuse conduct they would condemn immediately if it came from the opposing party. We are tired of our tax dollars being wasted while ordinary Americans struggle. We are tired of elected officials refusing to stand up against corruption, abuses of power, and attacks on democratic institutions because they are afraid of challenging their own party.
If you refuse to stand up for your constituents, then we will find someone who will.
Do not mistake silence for approval. Do not mistake party loyalty for a mandate from the people. And do not assume that voters will continue supporting representatives who repeatedly put Donald Trump and partisan politics ahead of the people they were elected to serve.
We are watching. We are paying attention. And we will vote accordingly.
