FIX THE ECONOMY. The felon has gained half a trillion dollars in a year and a half while citizens are struggling to survive at an unprecedented rate. Inflation is worse than the Great Depression. Gas costs more than minimum wage; many citizens are losing money to commute to work. It is only a matter of time until not working is the only way to earn money, since it saves purchasing gas and daily lunch at a minimum. We have our first trillionaire while the percentage of citizens in poverty has grown exponentially and you debate on which food benefits should or shouldn’t cover. The lowest percentage ever of Americans under 50 have homes. The majority of Americans under 35 have to live with parents or roommates to survive. Remember when roommates were so rare that it was an automatic assumption of sexuality? A country is only as strong as its weakest link; and ours has done nothing but worsen. This is a catastrophic failure as a country. Our economy cannot not survive with 1% population hoarding 99% of all money. Our economy cannot survive one person hoarding the matching wealth of an entire country. One person cannot hoard more money than our entire defense budget. One person is hoarding the money that could solve hunger, homelessness, and prices combined. The felon does not understand tariffs and raised them on Americans so we have had to pay even more for all of our needs. Inflation is man made and worsened by all of you and your inaction. You say that you can barely survive on 6 figure salaries annually, while 98% of the population will never earn that much in their lifetime. Citizens already struggling for survival in poverty pay higher tax rates than every single wealthy person. I am part of a dual income no kids household, which only 5 years ago was basically a cheat code, but now we can barely survive and support ourselves. Homelessness is rising. Poverty is rising. Prices are rising. There is NO U.S state where a full time minimum wage job can afford rent on a 1 bedroom apartment. Wages are lowering. It was an obvious truth that working earns money; but now it is entirely dependent on each person and each job whether the worker is gaining or losing money. Remote work gains money. Commutes lose money. Lunch breaks lose income during the time plus the cost of lunch (at least $20 even at McDonald’s). No public leisure activity costs less than $50 per person. There are no more third spaces so it is impossible to leave your house without spending money. All companies are forcing ads into every device possible so even staying home doesn’t necessarily save money. A single medical operation, including giving birth, leaves a person with lifelong debt. People cannot afford to live, much less procreate. College tuition and loan interest rates have raised, so a degree is no longer a way to change your circumstances but instead worsens them. Traveling is an impossible luxury that Americans have to dream of maybe one day. This economy is unsustainable and impossible to survive. This economy will inevitably crash and America will become an abandoned third world country with a failed economy. Will you intervene or will you continue watching everyone suffer and starve so you greedy rich can continue to hoard the unimaginable wealth of an entire country?
