The President today posted that Kilmar Abrego Garcia is never going to return to the US. This is despite a unanimous Supreme Court ruling directing him to facilitate Garcia’s return. It is one thing to try to return him and fail (although we are paying El Salvador so it should be pretty easy to get him returned). It is quite another to openly say he will never return. He is clearly refusing to comply with the Supreme Court’s order. He is openly defying the Supreme Court. This goes beyond politics and to the heart of the rule of law and of limited government. If a President can defy the Supreme Court without consequence, then there are no checks on his power. Congress has no choice now but to exercise its constitutional duty to impeach and remove Trump for his blatant defiance of the Court. Do your job.
