I’m deeply concerned about the unfettered growth of AI. It needs to be regulated and slowed down; there is no time to wait. I am concerned about its capacity to end humanity, but more immediately I worry about its growing capacity to hack into sensitive systems, sweep up Americans’ data, and surveil us. It is terrifying and it is absolutely unacceptable. Congress needs to act NOW.
