I am writing to implore you to raise taxes on billionaires to help shore up the financial health of this city and state. Trump has given tax cuts to a class that does not need it, while essential services to the poor and underserved get slashed. Do we want streets filled with desperate angry people being driven to violence because they cannot afford basic necessities? Whatever tax incurred on billionaires will be barely a scratch on their accrued wealth. Meanwhile we starve. Tax. The. Rich.
