Demand Accountability and New House Leadership
To: Rep. Randall
From: A verified voter in Tacoma, WA
November 6
The 2026 election sent a clear message: Americans want accountability, transparency, and meaningful change. We did not vote for revenge. We voted for accountability. That accountability must extend beyond the Trump administration. The House must use its oversight authority to investigate misconduct, regardless of party, including: DOGE access to sensitive federal data and whether that access was lawful. Conflicts of interest involving Trump family businesses, cryptocurrency, and foreign investments. - Full transparency regarding the Epstein files, while protecting survivors. - Deaths and alleged abuses involving ICE and federal law enforcement. - Unauthorized military actions and violations of Congress’s constitutional war powers. - Insider trading, government ethics violations, and misuse of public office. I am also concerned about the direction of Democratic House leadership. I do not believe Hakeem Jeffries should automatically become Speaker without a genuine, competitive leadership process. His meeting with Jared Kushner, his stated opposition to Medicare for All after previously supporting the legislation, and questions surrounding his political relationships with AIPAC and pro-Israel donors raise concerns for me about independence and whose interests Democratic leadership will prioritize. These issues deserve honest explanations, not dismissal. Axios +2 I encourage you to consider Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ayanna Pressley as alternatives for House leadership. I want leaders who are willing to challenge powerful interests, prioritize working families, support meaningful healthcare and economic reform, and demand accountability from both parties. I ask you to: Oppose an automatic selection of Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker. Consider Ocasio-Cortez and Pressley as leadership alternatives. Support an open, transparent leadership election. Pursue meaningful investigations and congressional oversight. Support campaign finance reform and reduce the influence of wealthy donors and special interests. The Democratic Party cannot credibly promise accountability while avoiding scrutiny of its own leadership and political relationships. No president, billionaire, political donor, foreign government, or member of Congress should be above the law. Please explain your position on House leadership and how you intend to deliver the accountability voters demanded. Your actions and votes will matter when I evaluate your representation in future elections.
