An Open Letter

To: Gov. McMaster, Rep. Biggs, Sen. Graham Nordone, Rep. White, Sen. Scott, Sen. Cromer, Pres. Trump

From: A constituent in Prosperity, SC

October 6

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Graham’s and everyone Subject: Demand for Ethics Committee Investigation — Conflict of Interest on the Stop Insider Trading Act Dear Senators, On October 6, 2026, the Senate voted down the Stop Insider Trading Act on a party-line 53-to-47 vote. Members of Congress who hold stocks in the very industries they regulate should not be voting on legislation that affects those holdings. That is a conflict of interest, plain and simple. The STOCK Act already bans insider trading by members of Congress, and it empowers the Senate Ethics Committee to investigate violations. I am formally requesting that the Committee open a full investigation into the senators who voted against this ban while holding regulated-industry stocks. The people of South Carolina are watching. Restore trust by acting now. Sincerely, Melissa Constituent in Prosperity, S.C. They should be impeached for unethical conduct by lawmakers
