Defend constitutional rights, reject citizen deportation proposal

To: Sen. Capito, Rep. Moore, Sen. Justice

From: A verified voter in Inwood, WV

April 22

The reported proposal to deport and imprison U.S. citizens in other countries is a blatant violation of constitutional rights and democratic principles. Forcibly sending American citizens to foreign prisons would strip them of their legal protections and due process, setting a dangerous precedent that undermines civil liberties. This extreme measure appears driven more by authoritarian impulses than genuine concerns about public safety or justice. As elected representatives sworn to uphold the Constitution, you must firmly reject any plan to deprive U.S. citizens of their fundamental rights and subject them to potential mistreatment abroad solely on the whims of the executive branch. Protecting the inviolable rights and dignity of all Americans, regardless of circumstances, is a sacred responsibility. I urge you to speak out forcefully against this unconstitutional overreach and defend the cherished freedoms that define the nation.
