Demand for Transparency and Accountability on Epstein Files
To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Roy
From: A constituent in Bandera, TX
February 6
Subject: Demand for Transparency and Accountability on Epstein Files and Foreign Policy Priorities I am writing as a constituent deeply concerned about critical issues facing our country: the incomplete release of the Department of Justice’s Jeffrey Epstein investigative files, and the growing risk of military conflict with Iran. First, the Epstein Files Transparency Act required all unclassified materials relating to Jeffrey Epstein’s network to be made public. While over 3 million pages have been released, key documents remain redacted or withheld, and survivors have criticized the handling as “incomplete” and harmful to victims. This limited transparency undermines public trust in justice, accountability, and the rule of law. Congress must ensure full, unredacted disclosure, enforce compliance with the statute, protect victims’ privacy appropriately, and pursue mechanisms to hold the Department of Justice accountable if further withholding persists. Second, the situation with Iran is escalating into what many news outlets describe as one of the most serious foreign policy crises of our time. Diplomatic talks scheduled in Oman reflect diplomatic efforts to avert war, but simultaneous military buildup and clashes — such as a U.S. aircraft shooting down an Iranian drone — show how fragile the situation has become. Iran’s leadership has warned that any U.S. military action would be regarded as an act of war with potentially wide regional consequences. Our representatives must vigorously oversee executive actions on foreign policy, resist unnecessary military escalation, and insist that diplomacy be prioritized. Decisions about war and peace should not be made without thorough congressional deliberation and public transparency. I urge you to: Demand full, unredacted release of all remaining Epstein-related DOJ files without political interference. Press for clear reporting and oversight of all foreign policy options relating to Iran, including diplomatic goals, legal authority for any military action, and the potential human and economic costs of conflict. Hold hearings that bring both DOJ transparency and foreign policy strategy into public scrutiny. The American public deserves clarity, accountability, and leadership that upholds democratic principles rather than obscures truth or rushes into conflict.
