Resolve Unjust Detainment of Kilmar Abrego Garcia Immediately

To: Sen. Baldwin, Sen. Johnson, Rep. Steil

From: A constituent in Greendale, WI

May 1

I urge you to take immediate action to secure the safe return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from the Terrorism Confinement Center in El Salvador. As reported, Mr. Abrego Garcia was mistakenly deported to El Salvador despite a judge's prior ruling prohibiting his removal to that country due to credible threats to his life there. The Supreme Court has ordered the administration to facilitate his release, yet he remains unjustly detained in a notorious megaprison, deprived of due process. This is a grave violation of his rights and casts doubt on our commitment to the rule of law. Diplomatic efforts have apparently stalled, leaving an innocent man in legal limbo under inhumane conditions through no fault of his own. We must uphold our constitutional principles and moral standing by exhausting all avenues to correct this egregious error and bring Mr. Abrego Garcia to safety without further delay. Decisive leadership is needed to resolve this unacceptable situation in accordance with human rights and American values.
