Demand for Impeachment and Removal of the President
To: Sen. Johnson, Sen. Baldwin, Rep. Fitzgerald
From: A verified voter in Muskego, WI
February 1
I am writing as a constituent to demand that Congress initiate impeachment proceedings and remove President Donald J. Trump from office. This request is based on documented actions and conflicts that strike at the core of constitutional governance, ethical leadership, and public trust. First, the President has repeatedly placed his personal interests above those of the United States. He has filed a civil lawsuit seeking ten billion dollars in damages against agencies of the federal government. At the same time, he exercises executive authority over those same institutions. This is an extraordinary and unprecedented conflict of interest that no safeguards or recusals can meaningfully resolve. A sitting president cannot credibly oversee, influence, or benefit from litigation against the government he leads. Second, the recent release of unredacted Epstein-related investigative files has confirmed that the President appears in multiple official records associated with Jeffrey Epstein, including contacts and travel-related documentation. While inclusion in these records is not itself a criminal conviction, the seriousness of the underlying crimes, combined with the President’s documented proximity to Epstein, demands full congressional scrutiny rather than dismissal or minimization. No president should be above investigation simply because allegations are uncomfortable or politically inconvenient. Third, the President has repeatedly undermined the rule of law by attacking the legitimacy of investigations, the judiciary, and federal law enforcement when they act independently of his personal or political interests. This pattern mirrors conduct that has historically met the threshold for impeachment, including abuse of power, obstruction, and the use of office for personal retaliation and self-protection. Impeachment is not a partisan act. It is a constitutional duty. When a president places himself above the law, creates irreconcilable conflicts of interest, and erodes public confidence in democratic institutions, Congress is obligated to act. I am requesting a full, substantive response to this letter outlining your position on impeachment and removal, including the specific actions you intend to take. A form response will not be sufficient. History will record whether Congress upheld its oath to defend the Constitution or allowed political fear to override accountability. I urge you to choose the Constitution, the rule of law, and the long-term integrity of this country. I expect my elected representatives to support impeachment proceedings and removal from office without delay.
