I am writing as a deeply concerned American citizen to urge you to take formal action to expel Senator Mike Lee of Utah from the United States Senate. His recent comments following the tragic murders of two Democratic elected officials in Minnesota—comments that politicized their deaths and recklessly promoted conspiracy theories—are not only beneath the dignity of the office he holds, they are dangerous to the democratic values this body claims to defend.
Rather than offering sympathy or restraint, Senator Lee chose to respond to this tragedy with mockery and partisan hostility, referring to the event as a “Nightmare on Waltz Street” and baselessly labeling the alleged perpetrator a “Marxist.” These words were not simply insensitive—they were a deliberate attempt to inflame tensions, exploit political violence, and dehumanize fellow Americans.
This behavior is not isolated. Senator Lee has repeatedly undermined the legitimacy of elections, amplified disinformation, and placed party loyalty above the Constitution. These patterns are incompatible with the oath of office and represent a direct threat to public trust in democratic institutions.
The Constitution provides Congress with the power to expel members whose conduct is inconsistent with their duties. I urge you to use that power now. To remain silent is to condone the steady erosion of moral and civic standards in our highest institutions.
Senator Lee’s actions are not simply objectionable—they are disqualifying.
I respectfully demand that you initiate expulsion proceedings immediately.
