Stop the Trump administration from completely cutting TRIO programs. These programs are incredibly beneficial for low income, first generation college students. "Collectively, TRIO serves nearly 870,000 students and adult learners through nearly 3,500 individual programs in each U.S. State, the District of Columb ia, Puerto Rico, and the Pacific Islands annually." For every $1 invested in TRIO students, $13 comes back into the economy. These students get good jobs, pay taxes, and support their families. I personally attended a TRIO program, and now I have a great job at Genentech. My TRIO program helped me get my Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, and subsequently my Masters of Bioprocess Engine ering from UC Berkeley. Please support the continuation of TRIO programs for current and future students.
