Schools should be welcoming environments where all students feel safe, respected and able to learn free from discrimination or marginalization. Defunding schools that strive for inclusivity and support transgender students is harmful and counterproductive. Transgender youth already face immense challenges - they deserve to be affirmed, not attacked. Inclusive policies help create affirming spaces essential for the wellbeing and academic success of these vulnerable students. We should be championing schools that foster understanding, not punishing them. I urge reconsideration of this executive order which will only breed more intolerance and put kids at risk.
