I urge you to uphold the Governor’s veto of this harmful bill. Ordinary actions like using a restroom or showing identification should not put anyone in danger. This policy increases the risk of harassment and violence for transgender Kansans and will push people, including children, to avoid school, work, and public life out of fear. Kansas already lacks basic protections against discrimination, and this bill worsens that reality. It is grounded in misinformation that fuels bullying, isolation, and serious mental health harm. Trans youth already face elevated risks of self harm and suicide. This legislation will cost lives.
