Don’t Fear Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion!

To: Sen. Moreno, Rep. Carey, Sen. Husted

From: A verified voter in Columbus, OH

March 12

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are what make up the fear-mongered “DEI” term. What part of DEI do you dislike most? Please let me know so I can tell your constituents what you really care about. DEI initiatives play an important role in supporting students with disabilities by promoting their inclusion in mainstream classrooms rather than segregating them. Banning DEI efforts risks reverting to past harmful practices of separating students with disabilities instead of providing an equitable, inclusive education alongside their peers. Maintaining robust DEI programs in Ohio schools ensures all students, including those with disabilities, receive the supportive and welcoming learning environment they need and deserve.
