Preserve independent, evidence-based preventive care recommendations

To: Sen. Kelly, Sen. Gallego, Rep. Crane

From: A constituent in Kearny, AZ

July 27

Secretary Kennedy's decision to remove the entire United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is deeply concerning. This non-partisan panel of medical experts provides evidence-based recommendations on vital preventive health services like cancer screenings that save countless lives each year. Ousting the panel due to alleged "wokeness" appears to undermine its critical public health mission based on ideological grounds rather than scientific evidence. As elected representatives, you have a duty to ensure federal health policies prioritize medical consensus and public wellbeing over partisan agendas. I urge you to use your oversight authority to demand Secretary Kennedy justify this drastic action. Protect the integrity of preventive care guidelines by insisting the USPSTF remain independent and evidence-based. The American people deserve transparency on how demolishing this expert panel aligns with "making America healthy again." Public health must transcend politics - our constituents' lives may depend on it.
