I am a voting constituent from Davis, California, and I am writing to express my urgent concerns regarding the actions and conduct of Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz in relation to national security. Given the increasingly volatile nature of global and domestic threats, it is essential that those in positions of leadership act with integrity, responsibility, and sound judgment. In light of recent developments, I am calling for both Pete Hegseth and Mike Waltz to be either fired or forced to resign from their respective positions.
Pete Hegseth, as a prominent media figure, has repeatedly demonstrated behavior and rhetoric that undermines the credibility of our national security institutions. His divisive actions and inflammatory statements not only jeopardize public trust but also risk undermining the effectiveness of our security apparatus during critical times. Individuals in such influential roles should be fostering unity and trust in our national defense, not eroding it with reckless commentary.
Similarly, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has shown significant lapses in judgment that could have dangerous implications for our nation's security. As someone tasked with advising on matters of national defense, his ability to make sound decisions in the face of growing global threats is paramount. Recent reports and decisions have raised serious questions about his competence and readiness to protect the interests of the American people.
At a time when our nation faces unprecedented challenges, it is critical that those entrusted with national security positions demonstrate the highest levels of responsibility and foresight. Both Hegseth and Waltz have failed to uphold these standards, and their continued presence in their respective roles poses a risk to our national security.
I urge you and your colleagues in Congress to take immediate action to hold these individuals accountable and demand their removal or resignation from their positions. Our nation's security and the safety of its citizens must always come first.
