I am a voting constituent in Davis, and a faculty member at UC Davis. I am not writing as an employee, but as a very concerned citizen in our town after our current president writing that federal funding will stop for any college that allows illegal protests, including arresting "agitators". This is HIGHLY concerning in that this is limiting our freedom of speech and assembly. We are sinking further and further into authoritarianism. I implore you to do all that you can, including stopping any discussion on budget, until the US Congresspeople on the other side of the aisle also condemn these actions. The country is depending on you. Thank you.
