Oppose Bill Pulte's appointment as Acting Director of National Intelligence and launch rigorous congressional oversight of his security clearance and every action he takes in that role. Pulte is a real estate executive with zero background in intelligence, national security, or law enforcement — and he now oversees all 18 of America's intelligence agencies. That's not a gap in qualifications. That's a disqualification.
His record at the housing agency makes this worse. Pulte used that office to pursue unsubstantiated fraud allegations against Trump critics and perceived political enemies. Handing that same instinct to the nation's top intelligence post is a direct threat to the independence of the intelligence community. Because he was appointed in an acting capacity, he can hold this authority for up to 210 days without a Senate confirmation vote. Congress cannot sit this one out.
