I believe we all feel relief today following last night’s election results. However, I am writing to you today to ask that you all take a breath and take a step back. What we do not need right now is to go into attack mode and/or on the war path, which is following the Republicans modus operandi. This morning I saw a post on Facebook from Senator Wyden calling for subpoenas. Really? Can we not get back to civility and balance? Must we jump right into aggression and anger and show the same face that the Republicans have shown? There will be time to take a measured step towards cleaning up the mess through legal processes; however, what we need right now is to show that we are the party of the people, the party of civility, the party of work, the party that puts Americans first. I do not want to see those that I have helped place in office dig their heels in and act like a nine-year-old child. We have all had enough of that! Show that we want to progress this country. Show that we want to be good neighbors, not just within our country but beyond. Show that our tax dollars are meant for the people of this country first, the third world under privileged second, and conflict far behind. Can we not get back to leading the country? (And please fund public television and radio!! What about healthcare? Support for children, elderly, and disabled?? Science? On and on. And protect our data!!! Our environment. These things matter. Petty get even BS does not.)
