ISP Out of Broadview!

To: Gov. Pritzker

From: A constituent in Chicago, IL

October 31

As a frequent demonstrator at the ICE processing facility, I believe it is my duty as an Illinoisan and an American to speak up. The Illinois State Police is not protecting protestors at the Broadview ICE facility. They are brutalizing protestors and inciting conflict with us to justify pulling people over the barriers of the “free speech zones” (which itself is an unbelievable thing to say) and then arresting us for being outside the free speech zone. You are our governor, and I have found myself frequently in support of you, but seeing you play it tough in TV interviews only for the state police to aid ICE in the smooth completion of their operation is heartbreaking. We need more from the state in this moment. Get the Illinois State Police on the side of the people, or get them out.
