I am writing to ask to see what you will do about the elimination of the EPA department of research and development. We need the science produced by this department to protect all citizens. The reason the EPA exists is to protect the world we live in. We only have one. To eliminate this office is to make our country no better than the worst of the third world countries. Our country will get dirtier and less healthy. History shows that corporations left to their own devices will choose profit over the environment every time. They choose profit over people. The science in the research and development department is what keeps us learning and keeps us healthy. As we learn more we do better. This is an obvious step backwards. A step away from knowing better. A step away from doing better. A step toward making America worse again. Why would be that something anyone could support. So what will you do? How will you actually advocate for making America not take this step backwards?
