An Open Letter

To: Rep. Graves, Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley

From: A constituent in Plattsburg, MO

January 14

It’s called perfidy. It’s a war crime. Laws of armed conflict prohibit combatants from ‘pretending’ to be civilians to fool adversaries. The betrayal can cause an adversary to drop their guard. The administration claims there is an armed conflict with suspected drug runners. The laws of war BAN perfidy. It’s now being reported the first attack on a boat was by a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane. Do you plan to call for hearings to determine exactly what happened? This becomes extremely important because other countries flying civilian planes may target boats with U.S. citizens given your administration has seemingly approved this type of illegal attack. I want to see a public statement condemning this practice and your public statement calling for hearing. It would be a shame if your family was on a boat in the Caribbean and a civilian aircraft fired on that vessel; is that what you are waiting for before you speak up?
