The U.S. Postal Service has been building a new system to carry out President Trump's restrictions on mail-in voting, including an online portal for states to submit voter information before absentee ballots go into the mail. A whistleblower says the system was rushed and could keep ballots from reaching eligible voters on time. The whistleblower alleges the IT system was built over a few weeks, has not been adequately tested, and has crashed during what testing it's had. The whistleblower says the IT system's rushed development could flag a mistake even when the ballots themselves are correct, sending states through the process again and potentially delaying ballots from reaching voters.
This is gross election interference from the executive branch, and Congress should be outraged by it. Stop submitting to the constant use of executive orders to wiggle through loopholes and hold him accountable to the intended limits of his power. Do not let the President compromise our free and fair elections- Congress must intervene to prevent the USPS from using an untrustworthy and unsuccessful ballot rejection system this close to an election.
