I am writing as your constituent with urgency: National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 (NSPM-7) is one of the most dangerous attacks on civil liberties this country has seen in decades — and it is already in motion. Signed September 25, 2025, NSPM-7 directs the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force to investigate Americans based on their beliefs and identities — not criminal behavior. It explicitly lists "extremism on gender" as a terrorism indicator, language broad enough to target LGBTQ+ people, activists, and anyone opposing this administration's policies. This is not a future threat. The FBI's NSPM-7 Joint Mission Center — a 10-agency task force — is operational right now, building profiles on Americans before any crime has been committed. The IRS and FBI are jointly investigating nonprofits. Surveillance is underway. The Brennan Center for Justice has concluded NSPM-7 is "ungrounded in fact and law." Legal experts across the political spectrum warn it violates the First Amendment. And yet it moves forward unchecked. I am demanding you take immediate action: 1. OPPOSE FBI funding for the NSPM-7 Joint Mission Center in the 2027 budget. 2. CALL for congressional oversight and hearings on NSPM-7's implementation. 3. DEMAND its immediate repeal. 4. SPEAK OUT — your constituents need to know you are fighting for them. History will not be kind to those who stayed silent while terrorism laws were weaponized against American citizens. The time to act is now. We are watching. We will remember.
