I am writing to you today not just as a constituent, but as an outraged American citizen who is sickened by the rapid descent of our nation into a police state. The actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the past several months have crossed a line that can never be uncrossed. It is time to stop the flow of taxpayer dollars to an agency that has abandoned the rule of law to serve as a private paramilitary force for President Trump. We are watching in horror as ICE agents—emboldened by a White House that demands total loyalty over constitutional adherence—purposely use violence against American citizens. It is a disgusting betrayal of our founding principles to see citizens being beaten, gassed, and "grabbed up" simply for exercising their First Amendment right to protest. When did expressing a constitutional right become a death sentence in this country? There are blood-chilling reports of ICE overstepping its jurisdiction to target, harass, and arrest American citizens. This isn't just about immigration anymore; this is about an agency that has gone rogue, using lethal force and state-sponsored violence to silence dissent and please a President who views the Constitution as an obstacle rather than a mandate. The blood of those harmed by this agency is on the hands of every legislator who continues to sign the checks. We are done with "reform." We are done with "oversight" that yields no results. This agency is a stain on our democracy. It is a weapon of terror being used against the very people it is sworn to protect. I demand that you take a stand immediately to completely defund and abolish ICE. Anything less than the total dismantling of this agency is an admission that you are complicit in the violence being visited upon your own constituents. America is watching. History is recording your silence. Do your job and protect our rights, or step aside for someone who will.
