**Reconsider FDA's Stance on 7-OH: A Potential Harm Reduction Tool**
I am writing to express my concern regarding the FDA's recent recommendation to control certain 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) products under the Controlled Substances Act. While I understand the intent to protect public health, I believe this action may have unintended consequences that could harm those seeking alternatives to more dangerous street drugs.
7-OH, when properly regulated and used responsibly, has the potential to serve as a harm reduction tool. By offering a safer alternative to illicit opioids, it could play a crucial role in combating the ongoing opioid epidemic. The FDA's current stance fails to consider this potential benefit and may inadvertently push individuals towards more dangerous substances.
It's important to note that the FDA is specifically targeting concentrated 7-OH products, not natural kratom leaf. However, this distinction may be lost in implementation, potentially limiting access 7oh has allowed me to live a normal life I have a colon disease and 7oh is the only thing that stops both the pain and nausea while allowing me to work 2 jobs idk what I'm going to do without it to be honest. I was an addict for 10 years on heroin and never want to go back to that life but I relapsed over and over lost everything I would build so many times but 7oh offers me a safe lab tested alternative to street drugs on which I had overdosed 8 times during my junkie days.i have tried everything therapy groups AA but I always kept relapsing and walking the edge of death oblivion...i did not care 7oh has allowed me to live life my family and friends are all singing the petition altho none uses 7oh but me they are afraid for me to loose the key to my success. Street drugs are scary unregulated and cut with anything criminals have available. but 7oh is safe lab created lab tested there are no deaths in with 7oh was truly to blame.i beg that law makers reconsider taking such a effective harm reduction tool from thousands of people that truly depend on it we call for regulation lab testing age requirements prohibition is such a dangerous rout to take for so many regular working people please hear our testimony and look at the science please
