As a physician, I am deeply concerned about the current administration's attempts to suppress and censor scientific research based on political ideology. These actions are detrimental to the progress of science and undermine the fundamental principles of open inquiry and evidence-based decision-making. Policies that restrict or distort the free exchange of scientific information prevent the rigorous analysis and empirical data from guiding our understanding. Science should never be constrained by partisan agendas or ideological biases. A request is made to uphold the integrity of scientific institutions and processes, to protect the rights of researchers to conduct and communicate their work freely, and to prioritize the pursuit of knowledge and understanding over political expediency. The advancement of science is vital for addressing the challenges facing society, and it must be safeguarded from undue interference or censorship.
