The country needs leaders willing to break from the status quo and deliver solutions that address the real challenges facing families in Arizona and beyond. Here’s a blueprint for that kind of leadership: Common-Sense Immigration Reform: Build on Senator Gallegos’s pragmatic plan—create a fair path to legal status for law-abiding immigrants, invest in smart border security technology and personnel, and tackle root causes abroad. Add exit controls, common in other nations, to track visa overstays and protect system integrity. Modern Parental Leave: The U.S. lags far behind in supporting new parents. Iceland’s 2000 law shows the way—equal, non-transferable, publicly funded leave for both parents, fostering bonding and gender equity. American families deserve the same security. End Corporate Handouts Without Standards: Public dollars should never prop up companies that pay poverty wages. Tie subsidies and tax breaks to living wages so no full-time worker needs welfare. Repeal the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’: This law locks in permanent tax cuts for the wealthiest, paid for by slashing Medicaid and food assistance. Middle-class relief is temporary; corporate and estate cuts are forever. It’s a rigged deal that leaves working Americans behind. Restore Election Integrity: Corporations are not people. Unlimited corporate spending distorts democracy. Support a constitutional amendment to restore reasonable limits on outside spending and end corporate personhood.
