I call on you to immediately halt all arms sales and military aid to Israel in response to the ongoing and escalating assault on Gaza. The images and reports coming out of the Palestinian territories are horrific, with children being among the mounting casualties from Israel's bombardment. A ceasefire can only be achieved by removing the flow of armaments fueling this violence. The United States has immense leverage as Israel's main military supplier, and it must be used to demand an end to this devastating cycle rather than perpetuating it. Continued funding and military support make us complicit in these war crimes against a captive civilian population. The human cost is far too high. Use your power to pursue a just peace by imposing an arms embargo until Israel withdraws its forces and allows unfettered humanitarian access to Gaza. Only then can real steps be taken to address the root causes of this long-standing conflict through diplomacy rather than brute force against an occupied people. The American people demand moral leadership on this issue.
