Justice for Andry Hernández Romero – Support His Return to the U.S.

To: Rep. Veasey, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

July 23

I’m writing to urge you to take immediate action to help return Andry Hernández Romero to the United States. Mr. Hernández Romero is a gay Venezuelan asylum seeker who was deported under the Trump administration, later detained in El Salvador’s notorious CECOT mega-prison, and now has been forcibly returned to Venezuela—a country he fled out of fear for his life. You have the power to press DHS and the State Department to secure humanitarian parole or another lawful mechanism to bring him back to safety and allow him to pursue his asylum claim in the U.S. I urge you to act now and demand oversight into how this happened and how we can prevent future injustices. Thank you for standing up for human rights and due process.
